FAQs

What time is check-in and check-out?

Guests may arrive any time after 3p.m. Check-out is by 11 a.m. Requests for early arrival or late check-out must be made in advance. Additional fees may apply.

Is breakfast included?

No. Breakfast is not included. However, there are several breakfast options within walking distance or a short drive. Check out our Breakfast Spots page.

Where do I park?

Off-street parking is available. Pull into the driveway and proceed to the parking area along the side of house. The garage is not used for vehicles. 

Overflow parking is immediately behind the garage. 

Please do not block the driveway.

What is your cancellation policy?

Please email visit@fountainhall.com or call 540-825-8300. Cancellation is confirmed after you receive an emailed confirmation. Fees apply.

Cancellations received 7 or fewer days of arrival will be refunded less one-night’s room rate.

Cancellations received 8 – 14 days in advance of arrival will be refunded less $50.

Whole house bookings will result in forfeiture of deposit for cancellations in less than 30 days of arrival date. 

$10 per room for all other cancellations.

Emergency circumstances considered.

Are ice, glasses and bottle openers available?

Yes. In the Sunroom you will find glasses and bottle openers. In the small refrigerator freezer is ice and ice buckets. 

Are dogs or other pets permitted?

Only Certified Service Dogs are permitted. The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) defines a “service animal” as a dog that is individually trained to do work or perform tasks for a person with a disability. Dogs or other animals whose sole function is to provide comfort or emotional support do not quality as service animals under the ADA.

Do you have an elevator?

No. However, Butler’s Suite is located on the first floor. Other rooms are on the second floor accessed via a carpeted staircase.

Other Information: Health & Safety

Our top priority is the health and safety of everyone at Fountain Hall.  Our goal is to provide a safe, comfortable, and clean experience:

Masks are requested of all guests when in all indoor public spaces.
Complimentary face masks are available upon request.
Housekeeping in guestrooms has been temporarily suspended during guest stays. Fresh linens, towels and trash removal are available upon request.

An outdoor trash receptacle is on the left side of the garage.

Payment & Taxes

Reservations are paid in full at time of booking. All major credit cards are accepted.

Taxes include Virginia Sales Tax (5.3%) and Town of Culpeper Lodging Tax (6%)

Smoking, Vaping and Open Flames

Fountain Hall is a 100% smoke-free property (indoors). This includes cigarettes, pipes, cigars, vaping and all e-cigarettes. Outdoor smoking is permitted. Please ask for an ashtray and keep interior doors closed.

For your safety and those of others, candles and any other sources of open flames are not permitted. Any guests violating the non-smoking or open flame policy will be charged an additional $250 fee and will be held responsible for any specialty cleaning costs or damages to the property.

Exceptions: Thompson Grinnan and Lightfoot Hill guestrooms have decorative ceramic candle inserts. These candles cannot be removed and only replaced by Fountain Hall staff.
